Do You Actually Need a Social Media Manager? A Guide for Aberdeen Businesses
What social media management actually involves, what it costs in Aberdeen, and how to tell if your business has outgrown posting things yourself.
The honest signal it's time to hand it off
Most small businesses start out posting their own social media, and most eventually hit a point where it stops being sustainable. Here's how to tell where that line actually is, and what handing it off actually looks like.
It's not about follower count. It's about whether posting has become something you do when you remember, rather than a plan you're executing. If your last post was three weeks ago and the one before that was two months before, that's the tell.
What management actually includes
A proper service covers strategy (what to post and why, not just when), Gen AI-powered short-form video production, and active community management, replying to comments and DMs rather than letting them sit. Our tiers run from Starter Growth at £150/month, covering one platform with 2 structured posts a week and basic engagement, up to Full-Scale Dominance at £800/month, covering three platforms with daily publishing, active community management, and 3 AI Avatar Reels or Shorts a month with voice cloning included.
How much of it is actually AI-made
Strategy and community management stay human-led throughout, that's not something worth automating. The AI Avatar Reels and Shorts, 1 to 3 a month depending on tier, are Gen AI production. Standard posts and graphics are produced by an actual team, not templated out.
What it costs to add more
Extra platforms run +£50/month on top of your tier, extra AI video assets are +£75 each, and paid ad management (Meta, TikTok, Google/YouTube) is +£150/month excluding ad spend itself. All monthly packages need a 3-month minimum, long enough for a strategy to actually show results rather than being judged after three weeks.
Is it worth it?
If social is currently a source of guilt rather than a channel that's actually bringing in enquiries, that's usually the clearest sign it's worth handing off. A free channel audit is the easiest way to find out where the gaps actually are before committing.
