How to Grow a YouTube Channel Without Doing the Editing Yourself
What full-service YouTube management actually covers, from scripting to thumbnails to ad spend, and what it costs to hand a channel off entirely.
Why "just uploading" doesn't grow a channel
Uploading a video to YouTube takes ten minutes. Growing a channel that actually gets found takes considerably longer, and it's usually the part that stalls once the initial enthusiasm for filming wears off.
YouTube's algorithm rewards consistency, keyword-optimised setup and click-through rate on thumbnails, none of which happen by accident. A channel with great content but no strategy behind titles, descriptions or thumbnails will consistently underperform one with a weaker video but a stronger setup.
What's actually included
Full management covers channel setup, keyword-optimised content planning, scripting, professional editing and custom high-CTR thumbnails for every upload, not just a video dump with a title slapped on. Basic Management runs £800/month for 4 fully scripted and edited videos. Full-Service Management is £1,500/month for 8 videos, with £80/month of ad spend included (£10/video). Enterprise Management starts from £3,000/month for 12 videos plus complete community management and full paid advertising administration across Google, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Starting from zero vs taking over an existing channel
Channel Setup & Branding (£300) covers a new channel from scratch: name optimisation, custom logo and banner, SEO-optimised descriptions, playlist configuration and analytics/pixel setup. Most retainer clients, though, already have a channel running, and management folds straight into the existing upload schedule rather than starting over.
What it costs beyond the retainer
Content Strategy Development (competitor analysis, audience profiling, a multi-month content calendar) is £200 as a standalone. Standalone video editing is available without a retainer too, useful if scripting and editing are the bottleneck but scheduling isn't.
Worth knowing before committing
A 3-month minimum applies to retainer packages, long enough for a keyword strategy and consistent upload schedule to actually move the needle. A free channel audit is the way to find out what's actually holding a channel back before signing up for anything.
