What's Actually Included in a Professional Logo Design Package?
What a proper logo and brand identity project actually involves, from discovery call to final files, and what it costs in Aberdeen.
It starts with a discovery call, not a mood board
"Design me a logo" is a request that can mean a £20 gig-site turnaround or a proper identity process with real strategic thinking behind it. Here's what the second version actually looks like, step by step.
Before any concepts get drawn, a short call covers the business, its audience and whatever brand assets already exist, so the brief starts from what's actually there rather than a blank page and someone else's Pinterest board.
Concepts, then revisions, not one-and-done
Every project starts with 2 to 3 distinct concept directions, each with a short rationale for why it works, before any single concept gets refined further. Once one's chosen, two rounds of revisions are included as standard, covering colour, type and layout adjustments. Further rounds beyond that are billed at £30 +VAT/asset, the same discounted rate active retainer clients get for ad-hoc updates.
What actually gets delivered
Full-resolution vector files (SVG/EPS), PNG exports sized for web and social, a colour and type guide, and a one-page usage sheet covering do's and don'ts, so anyone handed the kit afterwards, a printer, a new hire, an agency, can use it correctly without asking first.
Pricing and timeline
Logo and core identity work starts from £200 +VAT. A standalone logo typically takes 1 to 2 weeks from the discovery call to final export. A full identity kit, logo, type system, colour guide and templates, usually runs 2 to 4 weeks. Merchandise and print asset design (t-shirts, posters, flyers, promotional collateral) runs £50 to £150 +VAT.
Something less common: custom AI model training
A newer option worth knowing about: for £100 +VAT setup, we can train a dedicated visual AI agent on a brand's specific character or product style, useful for brands that need a consistent visual style generated repeatedly across future assets.
No lock-in
Logo and print work is priced and delivered per project, no minimum contract. If you become an active Social Media or YouTube & Podcast retainer client afterwards, ad-hoc graphic updates get discounted to £30 +VAT/asset.
