Why AI Filmmaking Is Becoming Aberdeen's Favourite Team Building Day

Inside Movie Mayhem, Phake Media's AI filmmaking team building day for Aberdeen companies, from scripting to a big-screen premiere.

What the day actually involves

Trust falls have a well-earned reputation for being the part of a team building day everyone tolerates rather than enjoys. Movie Mayhem starts from a different premise entirely: give a team a genuinely new skill for a day, and let the result be something they're actually proud to show people afterwards.

Teams step into the roles of directors and producers, working through the full AI filmmaking pipeline: scripting, storyboarding, building consistent AI characters (including face-swaps), generating voiceovers, and editing final cuts in CapCut, using tools like VEO 3 and Kling AI throughout. It runs as a three-step day: groups divide up to maximise creative contribution, then collaborate under guidance from our technical experts through the full production process, before gathering for a premiere.

The part that makes it actually memorable

Every group's finished film gets a proper premiere on our 176-inch Big Screen Van, complete with a custom credit sequence naming every director and producer by name. That's the moment that tends to define the day, watching something the team genuinely made together, projected big, with their names on it.

What it costs

£2,000 per group of up to 20 (£100/person) +VAT. Larger teams add extra groups of 20 at the same rate, so it scales cleanly for bigger companies rather than requiring a separate quote each time.

Who this actually suits

Teams that are AI-curious but haven't had a structured, guided reason to actually use the tools. It works particularly well for companies wanting a tangible creative outcome from a team day rather than an abstract "team bonding" exercise, there's a finished film at the end, not just a debrief.

A few practical details

An optional corporate BBQ can follow the final screening, useful for teams wanting to extend the day into something more social. All media assets created on the day remain the company's property afterwards, genuinely usable content, not just a one-off exercise.
